## How this fee estimate is built

There is no secret formula here, and nothing is averaged from other firms. The estimate starts at our published floor of **$325 a month** for [monthly bookkeeping](https://www.everstonecpa.com/accounting-services) and adds for the things that genuinely take more time: transaction volume, [payroll runs](https://www.everstonecpa.com/payroll-services-canada), and sales-tax filings. The typical incorporated client — [monthly books](https://www.everstonecpa.com/monthly-bookkeeping-services), payroll, year-end T2 with [financial statements](https://www.everstonecpa.com/financial-statement-preparation-canada) and T5018s — lands at **$500 to $700 a month, all in**, and that published figure is what the ranges here are anchored to.

[Personal tax](https://www.everstonecpa.com/personal-taxes) is priced separately and starts at **$125** for a T1 return. A [self-employed return](https://www.everstonecpa.com/self-employed-tax-return) with business or rental schedules is commonly **$275 to $500**. [Fractional controller](https://www.everstonecpa.com/contract-cfo) work starts at **$1,650 a month** and fractional CFO work at **$2,750 a month**, both scoped to the deliverables you need.

[Corporate tax](https://www.everstonecpa.com/tax-services) on its own, a T2 without monthly bookkeeping — is quoted after we review [your enquiry](https://www.everstonecpa.com/book-online) rather than estimated here, because the fee depends almost entirely on the state of the records we start from. That is an honest limit of a calculator, not a sales tactic.

Already with an accountant and wondering whether you are paying too much? [A second opinion](https://www.everstonecpa.com/second-opinion) is free, and [switching](https://www.everstonecpa.com/switching-accountants) is less disruptive than most owners expect.

## What is always included

- A fixed fee agreed in writing before any work begins, so the invoice matches the quote.

- One named CPA on your file. You are not handed to junior staff between filings.

- Year-round questions answered, not billed by the six-minute unit.

- Everything handled remotely: video or phone meetings, secure document exchange, e-signature. There is no office visit at any stage.

## Common questions about our fees

**Is this the price I will actually pay?**

An estimate from our published fee floors, not a quote. After reviewing your enquiry we confirm a fixed fee in writing, which changes only if scope changes and you agree. Most clients land in the range; those outside are usually catching up on prior years, quoted separately. [Ask about your case →](https://www.everstonecpa.com/quick-question)

**Why is corporate tax not estimated here?**

A standalone T2 fee depends on the condition of the records, which a calculator cannot see. When we keep the monthly books, the year-end T2 and statements are included in the monthly figure, so the bundled range is the more useful number for most incorporated owners.

**What if my books are behind?**

Catch-up work is quoted separately from ongoing monthly fees, because it is a one-time job sized by how many months are outstanding and how complete the records are. It does not change your ongoing monthly fee once you are current. Being behind is common and it is not a reason to delay the conversation.

**Do you charge for questions during the year?**

No. Year-round questions are part of the fixed fee. Being billed for a phone call is the thing owners most often say pushed them away from a previous firm, and it also produces worse advice, because people stop asking until a problem is expensive.

**Are there setup or software fees on top?**

Your QuickBooks Online or Xero subscription is billed to you by the software provider directly and is not part of our fee. There is no separate onboarding charge from us. Anything that would sit outside the fixed fee is identified in the written quote before you agree to it.

Catch-up work is quoted separately from the monthly figures above — [how catch-up bookkeeping works](https://www.everstonecpa.com/behind-on-bookkeeping) explains why it cannot be estimated in advance.
