Virtual Personal Tax (T1) Filing in Canada

Whether you’re employed, self-employed, or paying yourself from a corporation, we file your personal return remotely and make sure every credit and deduction you’re owed actually shows up.

In short

We prepare and e-file your personal T1 return entirely online — capturing every credit and deduction, and coordinating it with your corporation so nothing is double-taxed or missed. Ideal for business owners, the self-employed, and anyone with a return more complicated than a single T4. Personal tax starts at $100.

What’s included

A personal return done properly

Remote T1 preparation for straightforward and complex situations alike:

  • T1 general return, e-filed with the CRA
  • Self-employment & business income (T2125) handled
  • Owner compensation — salary, dividends and T5s coordinated with your corporation
  • Every credit & deduction — RRSP, childcare, medical, donations, home office
  • Rental & investment income reported correctly
  • CRA reviews answered on your behalf
Deadlines

Personal tax deadlines — and the self-employed exception

Most Canadians must file their T1 by April 30. If you or your spouse are self-employed, you get until June 15 to file — but any tax you owe is still due April 30, so interest starts accruing then regardless. Getting the balance estimated early is how you avoid an unpleasant June surprise.

For business owners, the personal return can’t be looked at in isolation. How you paid yourself — salary, dividends, or a mix — changes both your personal tax and your corporation’s. Because we handle both sides, we file your T1 in step with your T2, so the two returns tell one consistent, tax-efficient story.

April 30 for most

The general T1 filing deadline. Any balance owing is due this date even if you file later.

June 15 if self-employed

Self-employed filers get extra time to file — but interest on tax owing still runs from April 30.

Coordinated with your T2

We file your personal return in step with your corporation so your pay mix is tax-efficient.

Common questions

Virtual personal tax FAQ

How much does a personal tax return cost?+
Personal (T1) returns start at $100. The exact fixed fee depends on complexity — self-employment, rental or investment income adds to it — and we tell you before we start.
When is my personal return due?+
April 30 for most people. If you or your spouse are self-employed, the filing deadline is June 15, but any balance owing is still due April 30, so we estimate it early.
I own a corporation — should you do my personal return too?+
Ideally yes. Your salary/dividend mix links your personal and corporate taxes, so having one CPA handle both means they are coordinated and you don’t pay more than you need to.
Can you file my T1 from another province?+
Yes. Personal tax is federal (with a provincial calculation built in), so we prepare and e-file your return no matter where in Canada you live.
How do I get my documents to you?+
We prepare the return, and you review and sign electronically — no office visit.
Fixed feesClear, fixed pricing — you approve the fee before any work begins. No surprise bills.
One dayWe reply to every enquiry within one business day — usually the same day.
CPA-ledEvery file is handled personally by a CPA — never passed to junior staff.
No obligationYour first consultation is free, with zero pressure and no obligation.
