Advice Call — one question, answered by a CPA

5.0 from 20 Google reviews

Forty-five minutes by video or phone, booked and paid online. For owners who want a straight answer and are not looking for an accountant right now.

45 minutes $200 plus GST Chartered Professional Accountant Credited if you hire us

Pick a time — $200

Looking for an accountant to take the work on? The first consultation is free.

Quick answer: An Advice Call is a paid 45-minute session with a Chartered Professional Accountant on one specific question — $200 plus GST, paid when you book, with a short written note afterwards. The fee is credited against your first invoice if you become a client within 60 days.

How it works

Four steps, one answer

1

Pick a time and pay

The calendar takes the booking and the $200 together, through Stripe. Your slot is confirmed the moment payment goes through.

2

Tell us the question

One or two sentences on the booking form. If a document would help, reply to your confirmation with it attached.

3

The call

Forty-five minutes by video or phone. You ask; we answer in plain English, with the reasoning.

4

The written note

Within two business days, a short email of what was covered and what is worth acting on. You keep it either way.

Good questions for it

The one that has been sitting there for a month

  • Salary or dividends this year, given what the corporation actually earned
  • Whether to incorporate now, later, or not at all
  • What a CRA letter is asking for, and what a sensible reply looks like
  • Whether you have to register for GST/HST yet, and what changes when you do
  • A decision coming up — a vehicle through the company, a partner, a bonus before year-end

Not a review of your books, a filing or a set of statements — those are engagements with a fixed quote. If your question turns out to need one, we say so on the call and tell you what it would cost.

Common questions

Before you book

Is this advice I can rely on?+
You are speaking with a Chartered Professional Accountant, and the written note records what was said. It is advice on the question you bring, based on the facts you give us on the call — not a review of your records. Where a question genuinely needs one, we say so rather than guess, and tell you what that engagement would cost.
Can I send documents before the call?+
Yes. Reply to your booking confirmation with the return, the letter or the statements attached. Keep it to what the question needs; reading a full year of records is a different service.
What if my question needs more than 45 minutes?+
We tell you on the call, and quote a fixed fee for the work it would take. The $200 you have already paid is credited against that fee if you go ahead within 60 days.
I am already a client. Do I book this?+
No. Clients on a fixed-fee engagement can email or call with questions at any time; that is what the fixed fee is for. This page is for owners who are not clients.
Why charge for this when the consultation is free?+
Because they are different things. The free consultation is a conversation about whether EverStone should be your accountant, and it ends in a quote. An Advice Call is the answer itself, for someone who is not looking to hire anyone. Charging for the second keeps the first free.
