What’s helpful to mention

Whatever you write is up to you, but future clients get the most out of specifics: the service you used (corporate tax, bookkeeping, personal tax), what the process was like working with us online, and whether we responded when you needed us. A review doesn’t need to be long — honest and specific beats lengthy every time.

A note on our review policy: we never pay for, incentivize or edit reviews. Every review on our reviews page is reproduced word for word from our public Google listing, positive or otherwise.

What makes a review helpful

The most useful reviews mention what we helped with — a corporate year-end, catch-up bookkeeping, switching accountants, a first-year incorporation — and what the experience was like working with us remotely. That context is what helps another owner decide whether we’re the right fit for them. A sentence or two is plenty; we read and respond to every one.

Why a review matters more to a small firm

For a large firm, one review is a rounding error. For a practice this size it is a material part of how the next owner decides whether to call. Most people looking for an accountant are not comparing technical credentials — every CPA has those. They are trying to work out whether they will be looked after: whether calls get returned, whether the fee will be what they were told, whether anyone will explain what they are signing.

That is exactly what a review answers and a website cannot. We can say we answer the phone; you saying we answered yours is a different kind of evidence. It is also the single most useful thing a happy client can do for us, and it takes about ninety seconds.

What makes a review genuinely useful to the next reader

The most helpful reviews are specific rather than generous. A line about what we actually did — a corporate year-end, catching up two years of books, sorting out a CRA letter, a salary-versus-dividend decision — tells the next person whether we handle their situation. A general compliment, however kind, does not.

Three things are worth mentioning if they were true for you:

  • What you came in with. Behind on filings, switching from another firm, newly incorporated, facing a deadline — whatever the starting point was.
  • What actually happened. The work itself, how long it took, whether the fee matched the quote.
  • What it is like to work with us. Response times, whether things were explained in plain language, whether you felt able to ask.

Where you are based is worth including too, if it comes naturally — it helps other owners in your area recognise that we work with businesses like theirs. Please do not add it as a keyword; write it only if it is part of what you would say anyway.

Our policy: we never pay for reviews

We do not offer discounts, gift cards, entries into anything, or any other consideration in exchange for a review. Not as a matter of platform compliance — though it is against Google’s policies — but because an incentivised review is worthless to the person reading it, which defeats the entire point.

It follows that we will never ask you to change or remove a review, and we do not screen people before asking. If your experience was not good, we would genuinely rather hear it directly first so we can put it right; the contact details are below, and that is not a condition of anything.

If you would rather not leave a public review

Plenty of people prefer not to, and that is completely fine. A short email saying what worked is just as useful to us internally, and we will never chase it. If you would rather help in another way, referring one person who needs an accountant is worth more than a review, and there is a page for that at refer someone to EverStone.

Where else reviews help

Google is where most people look, so it is the one that matters most. If you have already left one there and want to help further, a note on our Facebook page has value too. There is no need to duplicate the same review across platforms — one honest review in the place people actually search is worth more than three copies spread thin.

Thank you, genuinely

Every review this practice has came from someone who took time out of running their own business to write it. That is not a small thing, and it is the reason other owners in the Fraser Valley find us at all. If you are about to write one: thank you — it genuinely does make a difference to a practice this size.
