Accountant in Regina for small businesses and their owners
EverStone CPA is a Chartered Professional Accountant firm serving Regina businesses remotely. We handle corporate tax, bookkeeping, payroll and personal returns for farms, energy services firms, contractors, carriers and consultants, by video, phone and a secure upload link, at a fixed fee agreed before we start. Businesses in White City and Moose Jaw are served the same way.
Quick answer: Regina businesses deal with two sales taxes — 5% GST to the CRA and 6% PST to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance. They also deal with a corporate tax collected on the federal T2 at a 1% provincial small business rate, WCB Saskatchewan premiums and no provincial payroll levy. EverStone handles all of it remotely from Abbotsford, with one CPA on the file and fees fixed in writing after a free consultation. Published fees start at $100 for a personal return and $300 a month for bookkeeping.
We serve owners in Regina and across White City, Emerald Park, Moose Jaw and the surrounding area. The work is the same wherever you are on the map; the Saskatchewan rules are what shape it.
One CPA for a Regina business, all year
EverStone is a one-CPA firm. The person who reviews your books is the person who prepares your T2, answers your email in July and signs off your year-end. For an owner-managed business in Regina, that removes the two things that make an accountant hard to use: waiting for a reply, and wondering whether a question will turn up on the next invoice.
Fees are fixed in writing before work starts. Personal returns start from $100; monthly bookkeeping from $300 a month with GST filing included; a typical trades-corporation bundle of bookkeeping, payroll and the year-end T2 usually runs $450–$650 a month. Corporate tax on its own is quoted after a free consultation. Published fees show the full list.
What makes a Saskatchewan file different
Saskatchewan did not harmonise its sales tax. A Regina business can hold a GST registration with the CRA and a separate PST registration with the Ministry of Finance, file two returns on two schedules. It treats the two taxes differently in its books: GST paid is generally recoverable as an input tax credit, PST paid is part of the cost. PST also reaches goods brought into the province for use here, which catches businesses buying equipment in Alberta.
On the income tax side the province is simpler. Corporate tax is calculated on the federal T2, with a permanent 1% small business rate and 12% on general income. Personal tax is calculated on form SK428 with the T1. There is no employer health tax. The Corporate Registry annual return is filed with Information Services Corporation, on a date the registry sets. Saskatchewan tax facts has the sourced tables, and accountants across Saskatchewan covers the province as a whole.

Regina industries we work with most
Regina is the provincial capital and a service centre for the farms, oil fields and highways around it, and its owner-managed businesses reflect that. Each of the groups below has a page of its own.
- Farms and agribusiness. Grain, oilseed and cattle operations on the plain around the city: the cash method, zero-rated sales with recoverable inputs, equipment trade-ins and passing the farm to the next generation.
- Energy services. Oilfield service contractors working the southeast of the province and beyond: heavy equipment, revenue tied to drilling programs, crews away from home and PST on field work.
- Construction contractors. General contractors and trades: T5018 slips, progress billing and holdbacks, WCB clearances for subcontractors and PST on installed materials.
- Trucking. Owner-operators and fleets on the Trans-Canada and the north–south routes: tractor and trailer CCA, IFTA and IRP records and long-haul meals.
- Consultants. Independent professionals contracting with government ministries and Crown corporations: incorporation, personal services business risk, GST registration and invoicing a public body.
What a Regina client’s year looks like
The year is shaped by your fiscal year-end rather than the calendar. Books stay current month to month, and the GST and PST returns file on their own cycles. Before the year closes we raise the decisions that can still be acted on: salary or dividend, whether to buy the next piece of equipment now or after year-end, and how much profit to leave in the company.
The corporate balance is due two months after year-end, or three for a Canadian-controlled private corporation claiming the small business deduction that meets the conditions, and the T2 itself six months after. T4 and T5 slips are due by the last day of February, personal returns by April 30, or June 15 for the self-employed. Deadline reminders arrive before each one.
How a remote engagement works in Saskatchewan
Working with a CPA in another province is ordinary now, and for a Saskatchewan business it changes nothing about how the returns are prepared or filed.
- Authorisation, not paperwork. You authorise us through your CRA My Business Account, a few clicks on your side. That lets us see filings, balances and notices directly.
- Documents move by secure upload link. Statements, payroll records and year-end files are sent by secure upload link, never as email attachments. You can send from a phone.
- Signatures are electronic. The engagement letter and filing authorisations are signed in a browser.
- Meetings are video or phone. Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time all year, one hour ahead of Abbotsford in summer and two in winter, so our mornings overlap your working day.

Remote accounting from Abbotsford
The firm operates from 32615 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford and serves Regina remotely. There is no Regina office and no staff based there. Everything runs by video call, phone and secure document exchange, so nothing about the engagement depends on being nearby. The person who answers your question in March is the one who prepared the return in June, which is the part a larger office structure tends to lose.
