A Fixed-Fee CPA for Brampton’s Manufacturers, Carriers & Owner-Run Firms
EverStone CPA is a Canadian accounting firm working with incorporated businesses in Brampton and the rest of Peel Region — corporate tax, bookkeeping, payroll and plain-English advice, delivered by video and secure email at a fixed fee agreed before we start. Owners in Bramalea, Caledon and Mississauga are served the same way.
Who we help here: Small manufacturers and food processors, trucking and warehousing businesses that feed the logistics sector, contractors and trades, realtors, and family-run service companies. Most are owners who have incorporated, hired their first staff and want one CPA who can explain what the numbers mean before the year closes.
Quick answer: Brampton businesses need an accountant who understands inventory, equipment, payroll and HST, not only a tax return once a year. EverStone works with incorporated Brampton companies entirely online: the T2, HST, bookkeeping, payroll and salary-versus-dividend planning, at a fixed fee quoted up front rather than an hourly meter. Published fees start at $100 for a personal return and $300 a month for bookkeeping.
Brampton industries we work with most: construction and trades, realtors and owner-run manufacturers and distributors.
For a one-owner Brampton corporation, our accounting fees for monthly bookkeeping, payroll and the year-end T2 with statements usually run from $450 to $650 a month all-in.

A CPA-led file, sized for an owner-run Brampton company
Brampton has a deep base of owner-managed companies: a machine shop off a business park road, a family food business that started in a rented unit, a carrier with a handful of trucks and drivers, a renovation company that has just put its second crew on the road. Businesses like these tend to outgrow a once-a-year tax preparer quickly. They carry inventory, buy equipment, run payroll, collect HST on every invoice and borrow from a bank that wants statements it can read. What they need is one accountant who keeps the monthly books, files the returns and tells the owner what the year looks like while there is still time to act.
Every Brampton client is assigned one Chartered Professional Accountant who reviews the file personally all year — never a junior learning on your return. Meetings happen by video, documents move by secure upload and e-signature, and your fee is fixed and confirmed in writing before any work begins.

The Ontario rules that shape a Brampton company’s year
One sales tax instead of two, a recent cut to the small-business rate, and a payroll tax that arrives with growth.
One tax, not two
Ontario charges a single 13% HST, made up of 5% federal and 8% provincial, rather than a separate provincial sales tax. For a Brampton manufacturer or distributor that means one registration, one return and the full 13% paid on materials, equipment and freight recoverable as input tax credits, provided the bookkeeping captures them.
Corporate tax rate
Ontario taxes active small-business income at 2.2% provincially for days after 30 June 2026 (3.2% before that date, prorated across a straddling year), on top of the 9% federal rate, on a $500,000 business limit. Income above the limit is taxed at a combined 26.5%, so the owner’s pay mix and the timing of large purchases matter.
Employer health tax
Once a Brampton employer’s annual Ontario payroll passes the $1,000,000 exemption, employer health tax applies on top of CPP and EI. A plant or warehouse that adds a shift can cross it in a single year. We track it so it is never a year-end surprise.
Accounting & tax services for Brampton businesses
Everything an incorporated Brampton business needs, under one roof — delivered online.
Corporate Tax (T2)
T2 returns and year-end statements for Brampton corporations, with the small business deduction, CCA on equipment and the Ontario Business Registry annual return handled as part of the file.
Personal Tax (T1)
T1 returns for Brampton owners and their families, prepared alongside the corporate return so salary, dividends and the Ontario surtax are planned together rather than discovered in April.
Bookkeeping
Cloud bookkeeping kept current monthly, including inventory and cost of sales, so your numbers are ready when a lender, a buyer or a CRA review asks for them.
Payroll
Pay runs, source deductions, T4 slips, WSIB reporting and Ontario employer health tax for Brampton employers with office, plant or driver payrolls.
GST/HST
Ontario’s 13% HST registered, filed and reconciled against your books each period, with input tax credits on materials, fuel and equipment tracked properly.
Fractional CFO
Part-time CFO support for growing Brampton companies: margin by product or lane, working capital, and the reporting a lender expects to see. Year-end financial statements are prepared from the same file.
Built around how Brampton’s makers and movers actually run
The city’s economic development office, Invest Brampton, names advanced manufacturing as Brampton’s largest employment sector and also lists food and beverage processing, logistics, health and life sciences, innovation and technology, and cybersecurity among its key sectors. The logistics base sits around the CN intermodal terminal, which Invest Brampton describes as the largest intermodal railway terminal in Canada, and the city’s closeness to Pearson airport. That mix produces a particular kind of accounting file: physical goods, equipment on the balance sheet, payroll that changes with shifts and seasons, and HST on nearly every purchase.
For those businesses, the questions are practical. How should inventory be counted and valued at year end? When does a new truck or production line make sense for tax, and how does capital cost allowance treat it? Is the company about to cross the employer health tax exemption? How much should the owner draw as salary versus dividends so the corporation keeps its small business deduction working? Those are the conversations we have with Brampton clients every month.

Buying equipment without a year-end plan
Brampton owners buy a lot of equipment: forklifts, racking, production machinery, refrigeration, tractors and trailers, work vans, tools. Each purchase raises the same three questions, and most owners only meet them when the year-end file is already being prepared. First, is it capital or an expense? Larger items are capitalized and claimed over time through capital cost allowance rather than written off in the year they are bought. Second, which class does it belong in, because the class decides the rate. Third, when in the year did it become available for use, because timing changes the first-year claim.
The second-order effect is on the owner’s pay. A large CCA claim lowers corporate taxable income, which can change the right salary-and-dividend mix for that year and the instalments the corporation pays the next. Financing matters too: the interest on an equipment loan is deductible, the principal is not, and the lease-versus-buy decision changes what lands on the T2. None of this is complicated once it is planned. It is expensive when it is reconstructed from a pile of invoices four months after year end.
We ask Brampton clients to tell us before a major purchase, not after. A short email — what it is, roughly what it costs, when it arrives — is enough for us to model the effect on the year, the HST input tax credit and the owner’s draw. That conversation is included in the fixed fee.

Working with a virtual small business accountant in Brampton
Working with a CPA who is not down the road changes nothing about what gets filed. Corporate tax, GST/HST and payroll are federal systems, and Ontario’s corporate tax is administered with the federal return, so a single T2 covers both. What changes is how the year runs: one video call and a secure upload instead of a drive across the city, and the same person answering in August who prepared the return in spring.
For a Brampton manufacturer or carrier, the recurring work is usually monthly HST, payroll remittances, a year-end inventory count, equipment additions and instalments once the first profitable year lands. Province-wide detail sits on the Ontario small business page, and the provincial rates are tabled on Ontario tax facts.

What owners say once the work is done

“…have been completing my bookkeeping, taxes and financials for the last 2 years and they have been amazing. Thank you!”

Brampton industries we work with most
The Brampton owners we work with are mostly in making, moving and building things: small manufacturers and machine shops, food businesses, carriers and warehouse operators, and contractors working on homes and commercial units across Peel. The recurring issues are inventory and cost of sales, equipment purchases and their CCA, payroll that grows with each shift, and HST on a high volume of purchases. Realtors and professional service firms are a second group, where the questions are commission timing, a personal real estate corporation and the owner’s pay.
Those are file-level problems, not local ones, which is why working online changes nothing about how we handle them. Trades and construction businesses have their own page: accounting for Brampton trades and contractors. So do agents and brokers: realtor accounting in Brampton.
What a Brampton client’s year looks like
A Brampton client’s year is shaped by the corporation’s fiscal year-end rather than the calendar. Books stay current month to month. We raise planning decisions — bonus versus dividend, timing a large purchase, whether to leave profit in the company — before the year closes, when they can still be acted on. HST returns file on their own cycle, payroll remittances on theirs, and T4 slips after the calendar year. The corporate return follows, and the balance owing generally comes due before the filing deadline, which is the detail that most often catches owners out.
The Ontario registry annual return is the other date worth diarising. It is due within six months of fiscal year-end, it is not part of the T2, and a company can be fully current with the CRA and still fall out of good standing with the province.

Remote accounting
EverStone works online and serves Brampton at a distance. No office or staff are located in Brampton. Video, email and secure document exchange carry the whole engagement, so being nearby never matters. The CPA who answers you in the autumn is the one who prepared your return in the spring, a continuity that bigger offices often lose.
How a remote engagement works in Ontario
Working with a CPA you never meet in person is ordinary now, and for an Ontario corporation it changes essentially nothing about how the return is prepared or filed.
- Access through CRA, not paper. You add us as your representative from your My Business Account, which takes a few clicks. From then on we read your filings, balances and CRA letters directly instead of asking you to forward each one.
- Records arrive through a secure upload link. Bank statements, payroll registers, inventory counts and year-end packages come in through the link rather than as email attachments, and a phone is enough to send them.
- You sign on screen. The T183 and the engagement letter are signed in a browser window, with no printer, scanner or courier involved.
- Meetings happen by video. Planning talks and the year-end review are booked around your schedule, not around a drive across Peel.
- Returns go where they always went. We transmit to the CRA electronically, and the Ontario Business Registry annual return is filed online as well.
What is specific to Ontario
Ontario harmonized its sales tax with the federal GST, so there is no separate provincial sales-tax return — one HST return covers both. The provincial corporate return is administered through the federal T2 rather than filed separately. Employer health tax is the main standalone provincial account for Ontario employers, and workplace coverage runs through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, which has its own registration and reporting.
Current Ontario rates and thresholds live on the Ontario tax facts page. Every number on that page cites its source and the date it was last verified.
