A Fixed-Fee Small Business Accountant for Mississauga Companies
EverStone CPA is a fully virtual Canadian accounting firm working with incorporated owners in Mississauga — corporate tax, bookkeeping, payroll and plain-English advice, delivered by email, video and secure upload, at a fixed fee agreed before we start. Companies in Port Credit, Streetsville, Meadowvale, Malton and the rest of Peel Region are served the same way.
Who we help here: Small manufacturers and machine shops, distributors and logistics operators near the airport, importers, contractors, restaurants and professional practices. These are owners who incorporated to use the small-business rate and want one CPA who explains what the numbers mean before the deadline, not after it.
Nearby, EverStone also serves Toronto, Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo.
Quick answer: Mississauga owners do not need a local office to get a good accountant; they need one who replies and fixes the fee first. EverStone works with incorporated Mississauga businesses entirely online: corporate tax, HST, bookkeeping, payroll and salary-versus-dividend planning, at a fixed fee quoted up front rather than an hourly meter. Published fees start at $100 for a personal return and $300 a month for bookkeeping.
Mississauga work we see most often: construction and trades, restaurants and trucking and logistics.
For a one-owner Mississauga corporation, our accounting fees for monthly bookkeeping, payroll and the year-end T2 with statements usually run from $450 to $650 a month all-in.

Restaurants, cafes and bars carry obligations no other retailer does; they are gathered in the restaurant and hospitality accounting hub.
CPA-level care, sized for an owner-run Mississauga company
Mississauga is a working business city. Alongside the head offices and large employers, it has thousands of smaller companies that make, store, move and service things: parts suppliers, food processors, freight brokers, installers, wholesalers and the trades that keep all of them running. Those owners often end up with an accountant who sees them once a year at tax time and never asks how the business is actually doing. We work the other way: a CPA-led firm that keeps your T2, HST and year-end statements tidy month by month, at a fixed fee, because everything runs online instead of through a leased office.
Every Mississauga client has one Chartered Professional Accountant who reviews the file personally, all year. Meetings happen by video, documents move by secure upload and e-signature, and your fee is fixed and confirmed in writing before any work begins. There is no office in Mississauga, and nothing about the work needs one.

What Ontario’s rules mean for a Mississauga company
One sales tax instead of two, a recent cut to the small-business rate, and a payroll tax that arrives with growth.
One sales tax, fully recoverable
Ontario charges a single 13% HST (5% federal plus 8% provincial) rather than a separate GST and PST. For a Mississauga manufacturer or distributor buying materials, equipment and freight, the whole 13% paid on business inputs comes back as input tax credits. Nothing sticks to cost the way a provincial sales tax does elsewhere, provided the books capture every credit.
Corporate tax rate
Ontario taxes active small-business income at 2.2% provincially for days after 30 June 2026 (3.2% before that date, prorated across a straddling year), on top of the 9% federal rate, on a $500,000 business limit. General income is taxed at 26.5% combined. Keeping profit inside the limit is worth more than it was a year ago.
Employer Health Tax
Once a Mississauga employer’s annual Ontario payroll passes the $1,000,000 exemption, Employer Health Tax applies on top of CPP and EI. A warehouse or plant adding a second shift can cross it in one year. We track the running total so it is planned for, not discovered.
Accounting & tax services for Mississauga businesses
Everything an incorporated Mississauga business needs from one CPA, delivered online.
Corporate Tax (T2)
T2 corporate returns and year-end statements for Mississauga companies, with capital cost allowance on equipment, Ontario HST and CRA letters handled as part of the file.
Personal Tax (T1)
Personal and self-employed T1 returns for Mississauga owners and their families, built around the salary-and-dividend mix that suits the company’s year.
Bookkeeping & Payroll
Cloud bookkeeping and payroll for Mississauga businesses, reconciled every month so your numbers are ready when a lender, buyer or CRA reviewer asks.
GST/HST
Ontario’s 13% HST filed and reconciled each period, with zero-rated exports and HST paid on imports tracked properly so a trading business claims every credit.
Year-End Statements
Compiled financial statements for Mississauga companies, with inventory, equipment and loans presented the way a bank expects to see them.
Fractional CFO
Part-time CFO support for growing Mississauga firms that have outgrown a bookkeeper: margin by product or customer, cash forecasts and lender reporting.
Built around how Mississauga companies make and move things
The City of Mississauga’s economic development office names advanced manufacturing, smart logistics, life sciences, financial services and technology among its key sectors, with aerospace, automotive, cleantech and food and beverage inside manufacturing. The city is also home to Canada’s largest airport, and the warehousing, freight and courier work around it shapes a large part of the small-business community. For an owner, that mix creates particular accounting questions. How should inventory and work in progress be counted at year-end? Which CCA class does a forklift, a CNC machine or a delivery truck fall into? How is HST handled on goods imported through a customs broker, or sold to a customer in the United States?
We work with these businesses specifically: corporate tax, HST, payroll and year-end statements, plus the retained-earnings and salary-and-dividend planning that decides how much of a good year actually reaches the owner.

When equipment purchases and inventory decide the tax bill
Many Mississauga companies are capital-heavy for their size. A machine shop buys a new lathe, a distributor adds racking and a second forklift, a contractor replaces a truck. Each purchase is deducted through capital cost allowance rather than expensed, at a rate set by its CCA class, and the timing of the purchase against your fiscal year-end can move the deduction by a full year. Buying in the last month of the year and having the asset available for use before year-end is a different result from buying the week after.
Inventory works the same way in reverse. Profit on a T2 depends on the closing inventory figure, and a count that is rushed, priced at the wrong cost or ignores obsolete stock changes taxable income directly. For a company importing goods, landed cost — freight, duty and brokerage — belongs in inventory rather than in this year’s expenses, while the HST paid at the border is a separate input tax credit. Getting those three pieces right is most of the year-end for a trading business.
We raise these questions before your year-end, not after it: whether a planned purchase should land this year or next, how the count will be taken, and how much profit to leave in the company under the small business deduction versus pay out as salary or dividends. The alternative is learning in month four that a decision made in month eleven cost more than it needed to.

Working with a virtual small business accountant in Mississauga
Working with a CPA who has no Mississauga office changes nothing about what gets filed. Corporate tax, GST/HST and payroll are federal systems, and Ontario’s corporate tax is administered together with the federal return, so a single T2 covers both. What changes is how the year runs.
Onboarding happens over one video call and a secure upload rather than a drive along the 403 or the QEW. Questions in June are answered by the same person who prepared the return in March, and nothing sits behind a walk-in queue. For a Mississauga manufacturer or distributor the recurring work is usually HST on imports and exports, payroll for shift staff, instalments once the first profitable year lands, and the year-end inventory and equipment schedule.
If you have not used an accountant at a distance before, the virtual CPA overview sets out what changes and what does not. Province-wide detail sits on the Ontario small business page.

Mississauga industries we work with most
The Mississauga owners we work with are mostly small manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers, trucking and freight operators, contractors and trades, restaurants, and professional practices serving the larger companies in the city. Smaller suppliers to the aerospace, automotive, food and beverage and life sciences companies the city lists among its key sectors face the same questions as any growing company: customer concentration, inventory, equipment financing and payroll that grows faster than the owner expects.
Those are file-level problems rather than local ones, which is why distance changes nothing about how we handle them. Construction and renovation firms have their own page at accounting for Mississauga trades and contractors. Restaurants and hospitality operators, from Port Credit and Streetsville to Cooksville and Malton, are a distinct group again; see restaurant accounting in Mississauga. Freight and courier businesses will find the logistics side covered in trucking and logistics accounting.
How working with a Mississauga business actually runs
No part of a Mississauga engagement asks you to drive anywhere. The first conversation happens by email or on a video call, records arrive through a secure upload instead of a courier, and returns are approved by e-signature. Questions during the year are covered as well. An email about a new hire, a lease or a big equipment quote does not start a meter, since the fee was set in writing at the outset. Asking early is the whole idea, because the useful answer comes before the decision.
One CPA stays on your file from the first enquiry to the filed return, so whoever prepared it is also who answers your email. For owners in Meadowvale, Clarkson or near the airport, that removes the commute and the worry about whether a question will cost you.
What a Mississauga client’s year looks like
A Mississauga client’s year is shaped by their fiscal year-end rather than the calendar. Books stay current month to month; we raise planning decisions — bonus versus dividend, timing an equipment purchase, how to take the inventory count, whether to leave profit in the company — before the year closes, when they can still be acted on. HST returns file on their own cycle. Payroll remittances and the T4 slips run through the year and close in February. The corporate return follows, and the balance owing comes due before the filing deadline, which is the detail that most often catches owners out. The Ontario Business Registry annual return, due within six months of year-end, is diarised alongside it.
Owner-managed companies elsewhere in Ontario are served the same way. The provincial overview is at accounting in Ontario, and the closest large-city page is our Toronto accountant page.
For year-end work specifically, Mississauga financial statements covers inventory, equipment and loan covenants.

Remote accounting
EverStone works online and serves Mississauga at a distance. No office or staff are located in Mississauga. Email, video and secure document exchange carry the whole engagement, so being nearby never matters. The CPA who answers you in June is the one who prepared your return in March, a continuity that bigger offices often lose. EverStone serves owner-managed companies in BC, Alberta, Ontario and Manitoba.
How a remote engagement works in Ontario
Working with a CPA you never meet in person is ordinary now, and for an Ontario corporation it changes essentially nothing about how the return is prepared or filed.
- Access through CRA, not forms. You add us under CRA’s Represent a Client from your My Business Account, which takes a few clicks and nothing by mail. From then on we read your filings, balances and CRA letters ourselves instead of asking you to forward each one.
- Records arrive through a secure upload link. Statements, payroll registers, customs entries and year-end count sheets come in through the upload link rather than as email attachments, and a phone camera is enough to send them.
- You sign on screen. The T183 and the engagement letter are signed in a browser window, with no printer, scanner or courier involved.
- Meetings happen by video. Enquiries, planning talks and the year-end review are booked around your calendar, not around a trip on the 401 or the 403.
- Returns go where they always went. We transmit to CRA electronically, and Ontario registry and Employer Health Tax filings are made online in the same way.
What is specific to Ontario
Ontario harmonized its sales tax with the federal GST, so there is no separate provincial sales-tax return — one HST return covers both. The provincial corporate return is administered through the federal T2 rather than filed separately. Employer Health Tax is the main standalone provincial account for Ontario employers, with its own exemption and filing schedule, and the annual return to the Ontario Business Registry sits outside the tax system altogether.
If you are comparing firms first, what to ask an accountant in the GTA before you sign covers the questions worth putting to any firm.
Current Ontario rates and thresholds live on the Ontario tax facts page. Every number on that page cites its source and the date it was last verified, and it lives there alone so it cannot drift out of date elsewhere.
Ontario questions we get
Does it matter that you have no office in Mississauga?+
For a corporate return, no. The T2 carries the Ontario schedules and is transmitted federally; nothing about the filing depends on where the preparer sits. Provincial employer accounts are registered and filed online in either case.
When can we meet?+
Video meetings are booked at a time that suits your working day, and most questions are settled by email without a meeting at all.
Do you work with Mississauga manufacturers and distributors?+
Do you work with businesses outside Mississauga itself?+
